    Better Late than ever!

    Troop Night

Its been a long time since the last scout meeting and since then I’ve had no time at all to update the home page with a report about the last meeting.  I’m really sorry that I did not get chance to do this but I hope this makes up for it.

The evening started as normal with flag break and inspection.  We started off with a quick game of quarter ball I’m afraid I’ve no idea who won in the end but if I remember correctly it was all very closely fought.  The patrol was then slip into two to learn and demonstrate there axe and saw skills.  With two patrols learning about how to use the axes and saws, and the second two patrols were demonstrating there ability to create a safe chopping area to be able to do axe and saw.

I was helping the Scouts with the chopping areas and by the end of 20 – 30 minutes both teams had some really good chopping areas.  Each area was a safe place to chop and one team even managed to make a wood store outside of the chopping area!  With time to spare we got the two patrols to create an obstacle course for the whole troop to have a run of it.  With the light fading fast and the time going we just managed to get everyone through it.

Please remember that subs are due, and also do not forget about the canoeing that we have organised for the Troop, at a cost of £1 its a fantastic price to try something new and interesting.
