Congratulations to our team that was in the Pulborough trophy they came a fantastic 9th place and hopefully they had a fantastic time. The Pulborough trophy is a great opportunity to practice all those scouting skills.

Unfortunately due to the weather over the weekend the scouts at this weeks troop meeting where met by lots of drying tents and some really horrible ground sheets. The plan of action was to get everything clean, dry and packed away and then play games (suppose to be field games but again due to weather we would have to be playing indoors).

The first scouts that arrived were tasks with cleaning the ground sheets of all the dirty and some very stick mess that was on one!!! The second arrivals had to do the had part and get the dry tents down from the hanging and fold them into their bags.

While all this was going on Skip was searching through the rest of the kit to ensure it was all clean and ready to be put away. Sadly it turned out that there was quite abit of washing up that was needed to be done, meaning as the scouts started to finish there first jobs it was time to wash up. They did a fantastic job on the watching up and the pots, pans and kettles were fantastically cleaned.

Ooo from cubs came to join us and with spirits flagging she cooked up a batch of camp doughnuts and drinks.

Thanks to all the scouts for helping clean and tidy the kit, everyone did a fantastic job and means that when we get it out for summer camp it will be nice and clean.

    Hot off the press!!!!!

Congratulations to 6th Lockerley that have won the pulborough trophy narrowly beating 4th Bramshaw to the prize.

Our team did a fantastic job coming in 9th place one better than last year. The scores this year were much higher than last year so well done to all the scouts and guides that took part.

Unfortunately i cannot remember the results for the Ian Granger but i think it was 6th Lockerley that won this too.

I think everyone has done brilliant and well deserve a hot bath leaders and scouts alike.

Thanks goes out to the organiser of the camp that did a fab job keeping us leaders in check and judging on time. Also thanks to the 10th catering team for keeping the leaders fed and water.

Another year done, see you all next year.

Its almost time for bed, the kids have been to a fantastic sounding camp fire and were all in good spirits when they left. Just enough time to have some supper before lights out.

The end of the first full day and the judging starts bright and early for breakfast.

Its been a hard afternoon dodging the showers that keep coming across the site. Heavy rain for a few minutes and then the sun is back out.

All the patrols have been hard at work chopping wood for their fires tonight to cook on. The gadgets are coming in thick and fast with just a few below.

Lunch is just been judged as I type, its the second judging of the day after the site inspection this morning. Just as we were finishing our inspections of site 1 and 2 we saw a dining shelter in the middle of falling down on the other site of the site.

Its been heavy showers on and off but thankfully the showers are really short. In between the showers its lovely with the sun out.

All the lunch menus looking interesting and there are some good ideas for next year. Next judging is site layout and program implementation, after the washing up has been done for lunch of course.

5 minutes till flag break and then its the first judging session of the weekend. Just one small shower so far this morning, we all have our fingers crossed that the weather will hold for the rest of day. All the teams have had there breakfasts and are in high spirits. There is a gentle sound of malleting in the air.

Thankfully no one this year was malleting at 5am 🙂 but one patrol was awake at 4am thinking it was time to get up!!!

Site inspection is the first judging of the weekend checking their sleeping and storage tents. The sun has just come out for flag break.
